How Much Weight Should I Gain During Pregnancy?

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Weight gain during pregnancy is very important to having a healthy baby as well as a healthy pregnancy. You really need to have a healthy mass throughout the entire pregnancy to have an easier labor and faster revitalization.

There are lot of things to think about when you are expecting and one of the questions I hear very often is How much weight should I gain? Or What is a safe weight gain? It can be so easy to just take the chance to eat lots of foodstuff and really not worry about the consequences! Though you are eating for two, it pays to remember that you ARE only eating for two, not three or more unless you are of course!!!!

Start with your BMI - Body Mass Index, a ratio between your height and weight at the time of conception and for most people a reliable indicator of their body fat. Then only you can decide how much weight should you gain during pregnancy.

Normal weight gain during pregnancy is the aim of every new expectant mummy. We all want to do what is not only best for our offspring, but best for our bodies so we can easily snap back to our pre-pregnancy size. But, with such high expectations can also come so many questions! Here are the answers to some of the most common questions about pregnancy weight gain.

Thus, you need to critically monitor your weight to ensure your well being as well as your baby's. The best move to know if your average weight gain is healthy is to ask your health expert. Normally, pregnant women with overweight women must gain 15 - 25 pounds during the pregnancy. Underweight women ought to at least have a weight gain during pregnancy of 28 - 40 pounds. And an average weight before pregnancy must gain 25 - 35 pounds.

Mother who gains too much weight has higher risk to having larger baby or early baby. Aside from that, they too are prone to specific diseases such as varicose veins, high blood pressure, diabetes etc. And if you lose weight during your pregnancy, this is also not safe since you and your baby's healthy can be compromised.

Add high protein food, iron, folic acid and calcium in your regular diet. A good and healthy pregnancy diet includes red meats, dairy, vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains. This coupled with a good pre-natal iron supplement and vitamin supplement, if your doctor suggests, and you will be well on your way to having a healthy baby, as well as keeping your mass gain under control.

Always remember a pregnancy is all about carrying a growing baby inside you, a real miracle of nature. Eating the good amount of quality food rewards you with not only a healthy baby, but also rapid weight loss after the baby birth.

When it comes to parenting……………………………

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Friends I personally believe in that Parenting or parenthood is something which typically and naturally comes to people. Raising a child is all about having good parenting skills and learning good parenting techniques. As we know the fact that no absolute rules are exist for parenting. Generally parents just learn from their own experience. Most of the things are just come so naturally, like feeding the baby, clothing the baby and taking care of baby. But when a kid grows and other baby is born, parenting becomes more than simply handling the child's daily needs. Sometimes mother and father both feels they need some help in deciding the best way to parent their kids.

As per the study an effective parent is intentional parents, who appreciate and understands a kid's needs. Actually there are no "ideal parents" just as there are no "ideal kids." Sometimes parents strive really very hard for becoming perfect parents can only cause only stress and frustration. Parents give so many things to their kids every day.

Just do simple things, show your love. Just tell your kids you love them, send them a messages, “I trust you, I believe in you; I know you can handle life situations and you are the most important person in my life." Give a tide hug, whenever they need your touch, love and support. Just be with them every time.

As per this famous quote,

Your children need your presence more than your presents. ~Jesse Jackson
